Regional Champs Frequently Asked Questions

The swimmer qualified to swim the one event at the AA Champs, so they are allowed to swim the event they qualify in at the meet.  

For the AA meet, swimmers must achieve the qualifying time in each individual event.  There are no automatic "bonus" entries allowed.  The swimmer and coach should decide on the swimmers participation at the meet.

The A swimmer is qualified to swim an individual event at the Regional A Champs meet.  The AA swimmer has three qualifying times for the AA meet in Athens, and therefore is ineligible to participate in individual events at the Regional A Champs meet.

No -- a swimmer with an AA seed time cannot swim that individual event at the Regional A meet.

No -- a swimmer with two or fewer AA times can compete in three individual events at the A meet.  And then compete in any individual events at the AA champs meet where they achieved AA times.

No -- a swimmer with an three AA seed times cannot swim any individual events at the Regional A meet. 

A swimmer with a AA qualifying time prior to the entry deadline for the AA Champs meet may enter and swim at the AA meet (subject to individual entry limitations).  The entry deadline for the AA Champs meet is after the completion of each of the Regional A meets, so any AA qualifying time achieved at the Regional A meets would qualify a swimmer to compete at the meet in Athens.
