Summer Champs is Complete (7/17/11)
What a great day of swimming! We had 2 potential individual records broken at champs! We just need to confirm with the records chair that no better records occurred earlier in the season. Congratulations to Mia Sunseri in the 8 & Under 25 Fly and Tyler Long in the 11-12 50 Fly! Attendance was apparent at the meet. Out of 1,930 entries, there were only 70 cases where no one was in the water.
Congratulations to the three division winners. Liberty Township/Powell was the clear winner in Division 1 (65 or more swimmers), Lancaster handily won Division 2 (30 to 60 swimmers) and Cambridge squeezed out a win in Division 3 (25 or fewer swimmers).
"Thank you!" a thousand times over goes out to everyone who makes this meet a success. This meet involves 225+ deck passes for individuals that make everything happen. Some of the 225+ deck passes were for individuals working both sessions on one deck pass! Some deck passes were shared by timers, so the number of people involved is even higher! It happens smoothly when each individual covers their details to make this meet run smoothly -- and to address the occasional bump in the road. While this list is going to miss someone providing special support, there were some memorable contributions.
Jim DePietro and Dave Shull held court over the pool with the officiating crew (thank you for your sign-ups!). They kept the pace moving quickly and ended both sessions ahead of schedule! The crew provided terrific coverage during the meet -- and there were enough that everyone had a chance for a break or two.
A special thank you to the volunteers from Liberty Township/Powell, Hilliard and Huntington who stepped in at the last minute to cover the two timing consoles. Kenyon had a last minute cancellation, and these volunteers helped insure we got times on every swimmer.
Liberty parents did an outstanding job at the bullpen -- contributing to so many swimmers making it to their race!
The Liberty and Hilliard teams supporting scoring completed all of the race times and did not post one corrected result. Their diligence in checking times (along with good plunger pushing and watch times by the timers) aids in getting the right race result posted on the first try. That's a team effort to complete 1,861 swims without a single error!
The assigned individuals for the meet roles all contributed to a very smooth meet. It is wonderful to not have to call out team names to address an open position during the meet.
Thank you to Rick Sargent (league president) who had no swimmer competing but came to visit the meet. He even handled heat sheet sales for a couple of hours!
The Kenyon Athletic Center staff did a terrific job with the pool and equipment. It is a joy to have the facility side of the meet go so smoothly.
And thanks to Meg, who helps with the hundred details around the deck, and did a terrific job jumping in and selling heat sheets (and acting as the information desk). She does this so well the details for her are a memorized check-list! Her patience (with me) and careful eye, insures that the action occurs in the pool -- not on the deck.
Once again, THANK YOU to all the volunteers for your efforts during the weekend. The swimmers were able to perform at their best level as a result of your efforts! Good luck to everyone heading to Atlanta for Long Course Nationals!
Officials Clinic (6/29/11)
There is a scheduled Officials Level 2 clinic for August 6. This is connected to the Regional Training Event for the Columbus area. Check the clinics link for a signup flyer.
Also offered is an Officials Trainer session on Friday. Contact Jon Reidler if you are interested in becoming an Officials Trainer.
Summer Champs (5/30/11)
The Summer Champs meet packet is now available. Several invitational packets are also posted.
Coaches, remember to check your certifications. Certifications turned in to Jon after June 1 require a late processing fee. If you post your certifications to the national web page, just pass a note on to Jon regarding your update.
May League Meeting (4/22/11)
The May League meeting is on Saturday, May 14 at the Ohio University Inn -- starting time is 10:00 AM. Every team must have a representative present. Mark your calendars!
This is a voting meeting, so if you are representing your YMCA (and not the Executive Director), please bring along a signed proxy. Here is the report of the Nominations Committee on 2011 league officer candidates.
Winter Champs is Complete! (3/6/11)
What a meet! We had 7 potential individual and 2 relay records broken at champs! We just need to confirm with the records chair that no better records occurred earlier in the season. Just over half of the swimmers improved on their seed time! Great swimming!
"Thank you!" a thousand times over goes out to everyone who makes this meet a success. This meet involves 250+ deck passes for individuals that make everything happen. Some of the 250+ deck passes were for individuals working both days on one deck pass! It happens smoothly when each individual covers every detail to make this meet run smoothly -- and to address the occasional bump in the road. While this list is going to miss someone providing special support, there were some memorable contributions.
Jim DePietro and Dave Shull held court over the pool with a huge officiating crew (thank you for your sign-ups!). They appointed Chief Judges each day (thank you!) and collectively kept the meet moving and ending both sessions ahead of schedule! The crew provided terrific coverage during the meet -- and there were enough that everyone had a chance for a break or two.
Lori and Troy Parrish supervised the timing console and meet results all weekend. They were thorough in their work, and it seems like there were no revised results posted (outstanding quality and THANK YOU!!).
Liberty parents did an outstanding job at the bullpen -- contributing to so many swimmers making it to their race!
The assigned individuals for timers, marshals, awards, announcing, hospitality, heat sheets and devotions all contributed to a mostly smooth event. It is wonderful to not have to call out team names to address an open position during the meet.
And thanks to Meg, who helps in every way imaginable, covering details in any part of the meet. Her patience (with me) and careful eye, insures that the action occurs in the pool -- not around the deck.
Once again, THANK YOU to all the volunteers for your efforts during the weekend. The swimmers were able to perform at their best level as a result of your efforts! See you at Zones at The Ohio State University!
Team Registration and Coach Certification Reminder (12/23)
If your coach certification is not posted on-line as valid through champs, you are already going to incur a late fee from the league and for Zones/Nationals. Please review your certifications and insure you have all the proper paperwork submitted: 2011 Champs Certified Coaches
2011 National Qualifying Times (10/2)

The Long Course qualifying times in Yards and Meters are the same as the Short Course National Times.

SEOWV Fall League Meeting on 9/11
The SEOWV league meeting for the fall is on September 11, 2010, with the Winter season meeting starting at 10:00 AM. The meeting is set to be held at a different location due to lack of space at the typical location. Here is the address and directions.
Teams should be represented by the Executive Director or present a proxy signed by the Executive Director to vote in their place.
Here are the proposed 2010-2011 by-laws changes developed by the Rules Committee.
Summer Champs (7/10/10)
We hope everyone had a terrific Summer Champs meet at OSU. There was some outstanding competition in the pool, with the crowd cheering on a number of races! Congratulations to our division winners: Liberty Township/Powell YMCA for the large teams, Lancaster for the mid-sized teams division and Cambridge in the smaller team divisions!
A special recognition to Gus Bailey for breaking his league record in the Boys 15 & Over 50 yard Butterfly!
What a terrific facility and the OSU staff did a wonderful job to host the event!
While a number of people believe there are a just couple of people that make this meet work, there were over 200 deck passes created to cover all the coaches and meet workers for the two sessions at this event.
Many thanks to all of the volunteers that make this all possible. A special thanks to Jim DePietro for serving as our meet referee. Dave Shull and Janna Hetrick were our Chief Judges in helping insure we had a fair competition. John McConaghy was there all day as one of our starters. The bullpen team from Liberty did a terrific job insuring there were swimmers ready behind the blocks! Lori Parrish dealt with the Meet Manager results, and did a terrific job in reviewing results for accuracy (coaches -- instruct your swimmers to touch the front of the touchpad). And a special thank you to Meg, for stepping in wherever needed to insure the tasks are completed with a smile!
If you have thoughts on your experience or how to make this event better in the future, drop a note with the Feedback button below. THANK YOU for making this event possible!

The league had good representation in Fort Lauderdale for the YMCA Swimming and Diving Championships April 6 through 10. We had 46 athletes from 9 teams present. Champs is Complete! (3/7/10)
What a meet! The crowd was engaged and the kids responded. Out of more than 3,000 entries, more than 96.6% of the entries had a swimmer competing! More than 51% of the swims improved upon their seed time. In all of those entries, we had 14 potential individual and 7 relay record breakers! We just need to confirm with the records chair that no better records occurred earlier in the season.
"Thank you!" a thousand times goes out to all of the people who helped make this meet a success. This meet takes over 100 volunteers to make everything happen. It happens smoothly when everyone covers the myriad of details. While this list is going to miss someone providing special support, there were some memorable contributions.
Jim held court over the pool with the largest officiating crew in memory. We may need to rent a meeting room at future meets! The crew provided terrific coverage during the meet -- thank you for spending the day on your feet.
Lori and Troy supervised the timing console and meet results all weekend. They were thorough in their work, even though there were a few new twists in the meet (did you like the updated display on the scoreboard?). Lori worked Saturday night to address an issue Jon overlooked for Saturday.
The teams hosting hospitality (CYRT and GYG) did a terrific job -- the best food in recent memory.
Liberty parents did an outstanding job at the bullpen -- contributing to so many swimmers making it to their race!
The assignments for timers, marshals, awards, announcing, heat sheets and devotions all contributed to a uneventful event.
The staff at Ohio University were outstanding in their support of our meet. The setup crew, led by John was an asset to our event. They coordinated with a vendor for the updated PA for the weekend -- we believe everyone had a better chance to hear the announcer.
And thanks to Meg, who helps in every way imaginable, covering details in any part of the meet. Her patience (with me) and careful eye, insures that the action occurs in the pool -- not around the deck.
There were some lost and found items recovered at the meet. We brought several "valuable" items (no, your t-shirt and shorts are still at OU). If you lost a "valuable" please contact Jon and describe what you lost and we'll see if we can facilitate a return.
Officials Trainer? (2/28/10)
If you are a Level 2 official who might be interested in becoming a swim official trainer, please contact Jon. We are planning a clinic in the fall, to add to the training crew and increase the availability of officials clinics.
Top 10 Times (2/3/10)
At the request of the coaches, the web site will host an occasional update of the top 10 swims for each age group and stroke (in the section to the left below 2010 Winter Champs). If you have leadoff splits that are erroneous, please let Jon know. With the 2/3 update, the event list matches the "primary" event list used at Champs. The top time for the 9-year-old with the 1650 free time will not appear.
Updated Time Standards and Standard Meet (10/1/10)
Thanks go out to Steve Sant and Janna Hetrick for the updates to the 2009-10 time standards. There is a new Standard Dual Meet database, dated 10/1 with the Short Course National times.
National Time Standards (9/28/10)
The National time standards are linked in, along with the SEOWV time standards (in PDF format). The updated time standard file for TM and MM is in process.
CHAMPS PARKING NOTICE FOR OU AA CHAMPS (2/26/09)
There will be an OHSAA Basketball Tournament games at the Ohio University Convocation Center on both Saturday and Sunday of AA Champs. Unfortunately, that means that OU parking staff will be out at the parking lots around the football stadium and pool charging $5 for parking. This is a good time to remind everyone to park in a paved striped parking space -- expect more than ever to be ticketed or towed. While the parking fee is an additional cost to the participants at the meet, that issue is out of the control of the swim league.
Website Updates (9/12/09)
2009-10 preliminary meet dual meet files posted under Dual Meet Resources (on the left).
Updated proposed rules changes for 2009-2010, as approved at the 9/12 meeting.
Swimposium (8/29/09)
The annual Swimposium flyer is available. This clinic offers Classroom & Pool Sessions, CPR, First Aid, ASCA Level II Stroke Course, Coaches Safety Training, YMCA Principles Course and an Ohio High School Rules Interpretation session.
YMCA Virtual National Invitational Meet (8/14/09)
See the following link on a Virtual National meet (updated on 8/14). There are multiple opportunities to compete and then submit results for consolidated scoring. Read on for more information.
YMCA Long Course Nationals (8/2/09)
Congratulations to 10 teams from SEOWV participating in Long Course Nationals! We had 35 athletes participating in 71 individual entries and 12 relays.
Congratulations to Tim Phillips from Marietta. Tim won four events, all in new Long Course National record times! The 100 Fly was at a new record of 52.88 (previous record of 55.43), the 200 Free was at 1:50.75 (previous record of 1:52.25), the 100 Free at 50.72 (previous record of 51.25) and the 50 Fly at 24.18 (previous record of 25.30). Tim's 50 Fly swim broke the pool record of 25.30 set by Jayme Cramer in 2001!
Lancaster had three swims at finals. Andrew Slater swam to 14th place in the 200 Free and 12th place in the 100 free. Christopher DePietro swam to 18th place in the 400 IM.
Columbus Hilltop had three swims at finals. Gus Bailey swam to 16th place in the 50 free and 16th in the 50 back, along with a 21st place in the 100 free.
Huntington had one swimmer at finals -- Joseph Aburahma swam to 19th place in the 100 fly.
SEOWV Summer Champs COMPLETE! (7/12/09)
All of the Summer Champs results are on the Summer Champs page.
Congratulations to the swimmers/teams with 5 new league records at the meet:
Wyatt Henderson from LYST in the 50 Fly
Gus Bailey from CHY in the 50 Fly
India Sherman from LCFY in the 50 Breast
LCFY for the 11-12 Girls 200 Medley Relay (Griesse, Sherman, Stone, Untied)
LCFY for the 11-12 Girls 200 Free Relay (Griesse, Stone, Untied, Sherman)
When you consider all of the officials, timers and other volunteers it takes to operate this meet, it's incredible how it all gets done in one day! Thank you to all the volunteers!
A big thank you to several individuals for their outstanding help at the meet. With the return to OU and a one-day session, there were many opportunities for things to go wrong. Jim DePietro was the Referee for both sessions and kept the meet on pace to get done before dark! Lori Parrish was in charge of scoring for both sessions, with Troy Parrish on the timing console for both sessions. A special thanks to Meg Reidler for all of the tasks completed without even being asked!
Coaches Certifications (11/3/09)
Coaches certifications are due by 12/1 to the league to avoid late fees. Information sent to Jon will be forwarded on to Linda Brooks for Zone and National deck passes. All three meets have the same certifications due date.
Team Registration (9/30/09)
Teams have less than 60 days to register and pay their $30 team fee to be eligible for Champs, Zones and Nationals. This link should get teams started. As of 10/24, 19 of the 23 teams were registered on-line -- just 4 to go! Could SEOWV be the first league to achieve 100% registration?
SEOWV Summer Champs Info Posted (7/9/09)
To try to address the long timeline for the afternoon session (roughly 7:30 PM), we will utilize fly-over starts for the PM session. Please instruct your individual event swimmers to remain in the pool until the next heat departs (except backstroke).
Coaches, do not forget to check the status of your certifications. Some teams do not have any certified coaches for Summer Champs!
All information posted for champs. See you there!
League Meeting on May 16 (5/4/09)
The upcoming league meeting is on May 16, starting at 10:00 AM at the Ohio University Inn. Every team needs to have a representative at the meeting. The scheduling for the 2009-2010 Winter Season is a key agenda item. We will also review the A/AA Champs format and discuss possible changes.
This meeting also involves the election of league officers. Each team gets one vote, officially held by the Executive Director of the YMCA. If someone else is attending the meeting, a signed proxy is presented to the league secretary to validate the alternate person voting.
One item on the agenda is to review the Winter Champs A/AA meet format. Here are the survey results from the coaches.
YMCA Short Course Nationals (4/12/09)
Congratulations to 9 teams from SEOWV participating in Short Course Nationals! We had 41 athletes participating in the meet. Including time trials, we had 102 swims at the meet.
Congratulations to Tim Phillips from Marietta. Tim won two events, both in new Short Course National record times! The 100 Fly was at a new record of 46.96 (previous record of 47.46), and the 100 Free was at 44.11 (previous record of 44.51). In the 200 Free he was second overall, and in a new league record time. Tim also placed 9th in the 200 IM, breaking his league record by more than three seconds!
Tim Squires (Harrison County) was the other competitor in Finals, placing 6th in the 50 Free with a time of 20.97.
Summer Schedule Posted (3/29/09)
The summer schedule is posted to the left. Some remaining conflicts are under review.
USA Rule Change (3/24/09)
USA Swimming released a rule clarification regarding swimmers wearing two suits during competition. Read the release. And the update released on 3/24.
CHAMPS Complete! (3/7/09)
The real-time results are refreshed to have all of the Sunday results posted (in case we missed any during the meet).
Team Scores are posted, with results by division. The result file for Team Manager is also online. The full results in PDF and the meet database are now posted.
Congratulations to Lancaster, the repeat winner for the Southeast Ohio / West Virginia Winter Championships. Huntington was the Division 2 winner, while Marietta was the winner in Division 3.
Congratulations to the record breaking performances at the meet by: Chris DePietro (2), Madison Lyons (2), Jon-Erik Reamer (2), Michael Eaton, Kassandra Mestemaker, Julian Oprandi, Julia StJohn and the LTPY Free Relay of Peroni, LaRosa, Neal and StJohn.
A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who assisted with this meet. With nearly 1,000 swimmers, it takes a great deal of effort to make something of this size appear to run smoothly (at least we hope it looked like smooth!). Special thanks go to Dave Shull, Jim DePietro and Brent Brown for working both sessions as our key officials staff. Elizabeth Keough and Meg Reidler worked both days, and did everything they could to help the on-deck staff, and then did a little more! Lori Parrish gets kudos for doing a great job with processing all the times for 407 races. Finally, a special thank you to Steve Sant and the MYST crew for staying late and helping with the breakdown and loading of the materials used at the meet. Again, THANK YOU to everyone who helped.
Good luck to all of the swimmers qualified for Zones and Nationals. Swim FAST!

COACHES! (3/5/09)
If you have a sheet of paper with ALL FOUR of your certifications on one page, please bring a copy to Champs. The new YMCA National certification process apparently requires sharing all four certifications to be eligible to coach at Zones or Nationals. If you bring your copy to Champs, I will insure it makes it to Linda Brooks. I can confirm at Champs which coaches need more certifications -- but better to be prepared. My apologies for the confusion, but I just got confirmation today. Jon.
PS: If you can't find your Principles of Swimming and Diving, go to ymcaexchange.org (ymca/9622) and click on My Account and setup a new account. Once you log into your account, you can print a transcript of classes taken and use that for your Principles card.
CHAMPS! (3/5/09)
Final psych sheet posted.
Timer assignments posted. Saturday main session should end around 6:00, and Sunday should end around 3:30.
Warm-up lanes posted. Due to the need for the OU College team to practice, the warm-ups extend by 30 minutes with competition starting at roughly 9:35. We will utilize fly-over starts for the Saturday session (only), to account for the delayed start.
To try to make access to results easier, the following link could be used on a cell phone to monitor results. http://www.seowvswim.org/ou.htm
Champs Season Reminders (2/4/09)
Apparel order forms are available for both Champs and for Zones. Please share the information with your teams and get the order forms submitted on time!
There are revised event files for the regional meets. To be able to prevent NT times, there is a range of valid times for each event. For the relays, the range is the largest range supported by Meet Manager. While it identifies a low and high time, you should find the range acceptable for your relays.
TEAM Registrations for Zones are quickly coming up to the "FREE" deadline. Register even if you aren't sure you will have any swimmers. Who wants to pay a late fee just to attend? Check to see if you are registered for Zones.
Winter Reminders (1/25/09)
TEAM registration for the Great Lakes Zone Championship is FREE until early February. Get your registration forms filled out, signed and sent in before the new year! Zones 2009 Page
Qualifying Times (11/2)

2008 Summer Champs Wrap-up (final results on 2008 Summer Champs page)
THANK YOU to all of the volunteers who helped make the SEOWV 2008 Summer Championship Meet a success. There are around 100 volunteers required on each day of this meet. Instead of missing any area, THANK YOU to all!
A special thanks to volunteers who worked on days without swimmers in the meet. A special thanks to Dave Shull, Janna Hetrick, Brent Brown -- our lead officials, who volunteered on meet days without children at the meet and who worked diligently to insure we held a fair competition.
Special recognition to the staff and parents from both the Hilliard YMCA and the Liberty Township/Powell YMCA. First for allowing us to host the event at their facilities and second for all the extra work they did in advance to make for a terrific event. The facilities were in tip-top shape, the staff was extra helpful, and the volunteers worked extra time to setup and tear down equipment. Their extra efforts did not go unnoticed.

Team and Coach Registration (12/28)
There is a new procedure for teams to follow for registering teams and coaches to participate in SEOWV Champs, Zones or Nationals. Teams must register at this link and pay a $30 fee (payable to Linda Brooks). Please complete the Register Team process. You need to enter 9622 on the screen to enter, and use your YMCA Association number to locate your team. There are 30 items requested to complete the form. In the future, this registration process may replace the Zone registration process. Here is a link to instructions posted on the Zone site: Register Team Online.
Coach registration (entering certification expiration dates) is also input online and coordinated on a "Zone" basis. For the moment, please continue to forward coach certification cards to Jon -- he will forward copies on to Linda Brooks electronically. Coaches certifications held by Jon on 12/28 were input for each team.
Fall Reminders (9/27)
Coaches certifications are due by December 1. There are late fees for each certification received after that date. In early January, the certifications pass to the Zone hosts, and late fees start accruing to attend Zones. If your name isn't in green on the listing, you need to act on your certifications.
TEAM registration for the Great Lakes Zone Championship is FREE until early February. Get your registration forms filled out, signed and sent in before the new year! Zones 2009 Page
Clinics for training (officials, principles) are primarily occurring in October. Sign up now!
While the meet database is not complete, there is a preliminary Meet Manager database and Team Manager Event List on the Dual Meet Resources page -- with the 2008-2009 event sequence. The next update for the database will complete the time standards and records.
Fall League Meeting
Just a reminder about the fall league meeting on September 13 starting at 10 AM (a light snack will be available) at the Ohio University Inn (map). This is a meeting where we address proposed rule changes, so each team needs to be represented by the Executive Director or their designee with a signed Proxy. Remember, teams pay a fee for not attending the meeting.
We discuss the assignments for Winter Champs. Please review the roles document and come prepared to select a section or two where your team can provide the needed support.
Swimposium
The annual Swim Clinic hosted by the Great Lakes Zone, USA Swimming and Kast-A-Way is upcoming on October 3 to 5 near Columbus. There are great sessions presented, and previous years had under-representation from SEOWV. All of the training needed to be a certified coach is available in one weekend! Late fees apply after 9/20.
Winter 2008-2009 Schedule
The first draft of the 2008-2009 Winter schedule is available. Where your team has a yellow background, some piece of information doesn't match with the other team's information. If your team can confirm a different piece of information to resolve the disconnect, please send a note to Jon Reidler. There are three teams who have not submitted their schedules, so some entries are yellow solely because of missing information.
Winter Champs (3/8)
2008 Winter Champs is complete. The Team Manager and Acrobat results are on the Winter Champs page.
Congratulations to all of the swimmers for their performance. There were 12 potential records submitted to the League Secretary for verification from Champs!
Real Time
Results/Psyche Sheets for 2008 Winter Champs
A special thank you to all of the volunteers that make the 2008 Winter Champs so special. With a number of teams unable to make the trip, there were numerous individuals that stepped up and helped cover the necessary positions. Timers were in particular need. There were roles assigned to teams who couldn’t make the trip – but were willingly covered by generous volunteers. It’s the vast array of wonderful swim parents that make Champs a success! THANK YOU ALL!
SEOWV Next League Meeting
For the Winter teams -- this is the scheduling meeting for fall. If you are hosting an invitational, please bring the dates so the teams are aware as they schedule their dual meets.
For the Summer teams -- signups for the Summer Champs roles will be at this meeting. For those that haven't completed a summer schedule, we'll take some time to address schedules that don't match 100% and try to find slots for teams to compete.
Summer Swimming (3/19)
Summer swimming planning is underway. Teams, please provide your schedule to Jon. Updates posted on the link on the left. Remember, Jon needs the date, competition start time, host team and visiting team(s). This information needs to match across the various teams to avoid any issues with scheduling. Please check the schedule to see if your team has any yellow rows -- indicating the information is unmatched or incomplete.
Winter Champs (2/4/08)
The meet packet has a revision to the long relay events to make then 13 & over events (page 5 is the only change). The Friday session is targeted to 13 & over swimmers, and the relay age revision made sense to the league officers. The updated event list is also available. Please review your team role contribution toward Champs and the role descriptions for information and suggestions. Entries are due on February 29.
Coaches Certifications SECOND CALL (12/27)
Along with the cutoff of the registration for Zones (next item), your coaches certifications must be current through 3/16 and copies to Jon Reidler (fax: 614-751-1333) by January 14 to get your deck pass for Zones (Jon forwards to Zones on January 15). After that date, you must submit copies of your certifications to Jon for Champs and to Toby for Zones. Late fees are already in effect for SEOWV Champs, and the "free registration" cutoff for Zones is with Jon's submission on January 15.

Fall League Meeting (8/20/07)
The fall league meeting is fast approaching. The meeting is at the Ohio University Inn, starting at 10:00 AM. A light snack will be available.

Meet Manager Training (9/10/06)
Have you wondered how meet scoring really works? Or how the times at the "big meets" always seem to come out right? Or have you had trouble dealing with the setup or entries for a meet? Are you interested in some training on working with Meet Manager and your electronic timing equipment? Drop a note to Jon Reidler for a class on October 1 starting at 1:00 at Gahanna YMCA. You need to bring a computer with Meet Manager installed to get the most out of this hands-on session of working on a prior meet. Please print the working meet documents (24 pages) and draft Meet Manager tips (10 pages) for this training.
Long Course Nationals (8/6)
Long Course Nationals are history. SEOWV took 65 individual entries and 8 relays. There were 34 time improvements compared to the swimmer seed times. In total, the league scored 168 points. Huntington was the winner within the league with 149 points. Finalists were:
Todd McGraw from Huntington with 1st Place in 200 IM, 100 Fly, 400 IM and 200 Fly -- with a new National Record of 2:04.25 in the 200 Fly. Todd set the only individual record at the meet this year.
Tim Phillips from Marietta with 4th in the 100 Fly, 5th in the 200 Free, 8th in the 100 Free and 9th in the 200 IM.
Travis Green from Huntington with 2nd in the 1500 Free, 5th in the 800 Free and 11th in the 400 Free.

Great job by the Southeast Ohio / West Virginia representatives to Nationals!
Summer Champs (7/17)
Champs results are now complete in both the real-time results area and as a PDF by day. There are a variety of looks at the awards on the 2006 League Summer Champs page.
Remember, your National entries must be submitted online by Wednesday, July 19!
Winter Schedule 2006-2007 (6/19/06)
Check your schedule submission against that submitted by your opponents. If the date, time or teams don't match, the row is in yellow. Some teams still have not presented their initial list, so that automatically creates some disconnected schedules. Resolve your disconnects and let Jon know about the changes for your team.
Rules Change in September (5/20)
Note that at the YMCA Nationals Meet, the Swimming and Diving Advisory Committee adopted USA Swimming technical rules starting on September 1. See the Officials and Coaches Clinics for brief notes and a link the YMCA Frequently Asked Questions.
